Double Drops
Double drop flatbeds have a high deck at the front and rear of these trailers, which create a lower well in the middle to carry especially tall cargo. These specialty trailers are often required to transport especially tall machinery or equipment, as the transportation industry has regulations for maximum height because of the clearances for bridges and tunnels around the country. Usually available in lengths from 24 ft to 29.6 ft, a standard double drop trailer can carry up to 40,000 lbs.
Extendable Double Drop
When your cargo load is taller than a standard flatbed can carry but longer than a double drop can haul, the extendable double drop flatbeds may be just what you need. Extendable double drops can be extended to lengths of 29 ft to 50 ft, and have a greater maximum load than the standard versions. This makes extendable double drops able to carry especially tall and heavy equipment, machinery or industrial goods.

Their models both come in 48ft length and are known for their years of trouble-free performance and financial savings for their customers' operations.

Can a flatbed trailer be used to move large construction machinery?
Flatbed trailers can be used to move exceptionally tall and heavy construction machinery. The type and size that you need will all depend on the dimensions and weight of that machinery. Most construction machinery and equipment is large and tall, so for example you could rent a 53 ft flatbed trailer with COOP. If your machinery is taller than regulations allow it to be carried on a standard flatbed trailer, you may need to find a lowboy trailer rental on the COOP app.

You may bring your own coverage, but COOP also offers physical damage and a $1M liability policy to qualified renters.
Does the COOP app offer flatbed trailers to rent for a month?
Absolutely! With many different sizes and models of flatbed trailers available depending on seasonal availability, there are typically plenty of options to choose from.
