Sleeper Cab Tractor
These types of tractors have a sleeper cab area where the driver or crew can sleep or rest after long hours of driving. Different truck-manufacturing companies customize these tractors with sleeper cabs of different sizes. Single axle tractors with a sleeper cab are very common in businesses with heavy hauling needs.
Day Cab Tractor
This type of single axle tractor is made to maximize comfort in the cab area. Since they don’t have a sleeper compartment, day cab tractors are used for daytime deliveries. They are also fuel-efficient since they lack additional amenities that add to fuel use. Some of them have rear windows for all direction visibility which adds to their usability, especially in urban centers.
Electric-powered Single Axle Tractors
This is a single axle tractor built with regenerative braking which prevents wear. This feature also gives additional power to launch hence decreasing fuel consumption by up to 15%. When the tractor is going downhill, the axle powers the generator which then stores the generated electric power in the ion battery. The disadvantage of this tractor is that weight is increased by 400-500 pounds.
Kenworth is one of the best manufacturing companies with a lineup of reliable tractors that come in different varieties and sizes. Some of the best models include the T180 and T280 which are medium-sized tractors tailored for different hauling tasks. The T680 NextGen has an aerodynamic design to help minimize fuel costs, as well as a fully integrated engine that provides maximum uptime. Kenworth assures you of robust, versatile, and also flexible designs that are suitable for your business. Also, the tractors have enhanced visibility and driveability with a smart-steering wheel and adaptive cruise control in traffic such as a radar sensor and a collision mitigation system.
This is an American brand with tractors built to ensure high performance both in power and productivity. Be it on the highway, Peterbilt takes you for thousands of miles while saving your fuel. A medium-duty tractor such as model 548 is usually spacious, durable, and ergonomic, which is very ideal for daytime deliveries. Peterbilt tractors are highly durable and tough enough to get your job done with their robust power and reliability. This makes them perfect for long hauls whether in the region or interstates.
Freightliner is a brand known for its innovative designs and next-gen technological configurations. It has also embraced electric-power options such as the eM2, a single-axle tractor that has a horsepower of 300 and a mile range of up to 230 miles with zero emissions making it environmental-sustainable.

Single axle tractors are often used for retail deliveries, especially the last-mile delivery due to their maneuverability. This aspect makes it easy to drive through narrow driveways and busy streets. They are also fuel-efficient because of their small size which helps to make many deliveries in a day.
Long hauls are easily accomplished using single axle tractors on the account of high mileage capabilities. Also, some have sleeper cabs on board which best suits them for this use since the driver can spend the night in the tractor whenever necessary.
