Flat Bed Body
Flatbed trucks with the flat bed body design are some of the most common. They come in different sizes and are used for hauling heavy machinery, equipment, and oversized pipes, just to mention a few. Since they are open with no roof or sides, they can be used to load freight from any side of the truck. Also, the floor of the truck could be made of either wooden or metallic planks.
Stake Bed Body
Unlike flat bed bodies that have no sides, stake bed bodies have removable stakes which act as the sides of the truck. These stakes are mostly made of metallic bars and are fitted in sockets located on the edges. They function as support for the goods in transit.
Step Deck
Step decks are designed with two decks that form the platform of the truck. They have a short deck that is usually 11ft. This deck drops to form a larger deck that has a maximum length of 37ft. They are designed like that in order to haul goods that are tall and might not fit under low overpasses.
Logging Body
Another type of flatbed truck is the logging body design which is specially made for hauling logs. They are usually customized with high sides that ensure that cargo stays in place and safeguards the safety of the operator. Since they are used for heavy hauling which might sometimes entail offroad trucking, logging body trucks have superb suspension.
International
This brand manufactures driver-centric trucks that are safe to operate, not forgetting a trustworthy performance. Safe and comfortable cab areas, improved visibility, and ergonomics all give the driver a great driving experience. International flatbeds are heavy-duty, eg the Lonestar model, and are made perfect for your heavy freight. This flatbed has proven reliability, is fuel efficient due to its aerodynamics, and has a sleeper cab option for long distances.
Utility
Utility manufacturing company is known for durable and economical trucks. It has several flatbed trucks such as the tautliner, 4000 AE, and 4000S. The 4000S for instance is a heavy-duty all-steel platform. The main beams have high-quality paint that prevents rust which lowers maintenance costs. The double tapered beam at the back maximizes the distribution of the load’s weight. The 4000AE drop deck hauls up to 71,000lbs due to its incredible features such as the strong aluminum outrigger attachments that provide stability and distribution of weight.
Scania
Scania manufactures trucks that offer endless hauling opportunities for businesses. Flatbed trucks made by Scania are powerful and tailored for heavy haulage with a V8 range and 730 horsepower engine. It also has great driveability and guarantees the comfort of the driver. Scania trucks are also designed for durability and consume less fuel.
