Day Cab Tractor
Day cabs are mainly used for daytime local deliveries. Most day cab tractors follow the cab-over-engine design where the engines are located under the hood as opposed to the conventional ones which have nose-like bonnets. This feature gives them high maneuverability because of a tight turning radius. The design also positions the driver close to the windscreen providing better visibility for them.
Sleeper Cab Tractor
A sleeper cab tractor has a sleeper berth area often fitted at the back of the cabin making them suitable for long-distance hauling. They are operationally productive and economical since the driver sleeps inside when night falls during the journey. Some manufacturers customize their sleeper cabs with more homely amenities such as bathrooms, closets, and kitchenettes that can sustain the driver for a week-plus long journey.
Mack
Mack is an American brand based in Greensboro NC which produces heavy-duty tractors. One of the best Mack models includes the Pinnacle which has uncompromising comfort for the driver, equipped with a spacious & comfortable sleeper berth. This tractor is durable, reliable, and built to ensure that any task is completed efficiently. The chassis frame is strong enough to support your heavy loads even on rough terrains. Also, the Pinnacle has a low center of gravity giving it maximum stability. The brand has generally trustworthy tractors that are light, fuel-efficient, and able to perform different hauling tasks.
Kenworth
Kenworth also produces heavy-duty tandem axle tractors. An example of a top model from Kenworth is the Kenworth T680, an aerodynamic long-haul oriented machine. The powertrain has a horsepower of 405-510 and a torque power ranging between 1500 to 1900 lbs making it a nice choice for heavy-duty hauling. The aerodynamic features such as a narrow hood and integrated air dams, sometimes have extenders that maintain airflow in the tractor that reduce turbulence.
International
International tractors are often driver-centric with an example of the LT series that sustains the driver for long-distance hauls. They have easy controls on the dash and clear visibility for either day cab tractors or sleeper cab tractors.
