Single Axle
Single axle tractors, just as the name implies, have one rear axle which also indicates the number of wheels on each side. This translates to the small size that increases maneuverability. They are a great option for urban deliveries where highways are congested or in residential neighborhoods where driveways are small.
Tandem Axle
This is a type of tractor with double axles that increase the hauling power. As such, tandem axle tractors can support very heavy freight and perfectly haul large-sized cargo without affecting the stability of the tractor. They have impressive strength due to the increased power distributed between the axles which is why they are used for different heavy-hauling tasks like construction. The tandem axle tractor can also be fitted with an additional third axle in order to handle more weights.
Sleeper Cab Tractor
A sleeper cab tractor has a bed compartment located behind the cabin where the driver can rest or spend the night when on a long journey. It cuts down on accommodation costs that would have been incurred to source external accommodation. While standard sleeper cab tractors only have basic amenities like beds or bunkers, others are fitted with additional tools to increase comfort and convenience.
Day Cab Tractor
A day cab, as opposed to a sleeper tractor, does not have a sleeper area. They are therefore suitable for daytime deliveries or short-distance freights since they don’t provide the comfort needed by the driver to spend the night or rest.
Volvo
Volvo has been manufacturing standard tractors with incredible features to withstand standard long hauls. Aerodynamics is one of these features which was introduced in 1996 with the intention of improving fuel efficiency. The VNL 860 model has maximized on driver-comfort & productivity as well as safety with 77” sleeper with amenities that make the tractor a home away from home. The VNL 300 is perfect for daytime deliveries with enhanced visibility and great performance on highways.
Mack
Mack is also a leading tractor brand, well-known for the manufacture of durable and reliable commercial trucks. Mack has heavy-duty tractors suitable for heavy hauling tasks including logging, equipment, and machinery hauling, etc.
International
International tractors are built to give power and are best for highway life. The company manufactures both single and tandem axle tractors. The CV Series, for instance, has single axle options that are highly resilient and great for small-scale deliveries. The HV series and HX Series are severe-duty with tandem axles making them efficient for hauling very heavy loads. The LT Series can be equipped with a sleeper cab to provide comfort for the driver. It also has enhanced visibility and smart dashboard features that improve driveability. Also, International tractors have undisputed reliability with significant fuel efficiency thanks to the aerodynamic feature.
Don't just take our word, hear what COOP customers have to say about our platform.
“The supply of short-term rental trucks was almost impossible. COOP was able to help by connecting us to equipment Owners that weren’t utilizing their fleets.”
“I like the convenience of being able to pick up the vehicles when I need them, check them out on the app, take pictures, and get on the road.”
Heavy-duty Hauling
Tractors are meant to perform most tough jobs. As such, they are used for hauling extremely heavy cargo, for instance, the machinery used in construction. The number of axles on your tractor rental also dictates the amount of cargo you can haul at once. Usually, the more the number of axles, the heavier the loads you can carry.
Long-distance Hauling
Tractors are strong enough to withstand many hours of hauling, even days. Tractors with a sleeper cab are the best option for this use since the driver can rest or sleep when they are tired or when the night falls. While most tractors are seasonally available, you can easily rent what you need with COOP by registering with the platform.
Landscaping
Tractors are also used in landscaping where they are used to haul different kinds of equipment and machinery. Since these items are large, tractors have extra tools used to secure loads being transported.
