Some tandem axle tractors are modified to make long-distance hauls comfortable for the driver. These are known as sleeper tractors that come with a sleeper berth area partitioned in the cabin area. With a bed and other basic necessities, longer trips are done more efficiently since the driver can park and comfortably rest when tired.
The conventional nose day cab has a longer hood than the sloped nose. This reduces visibility for the driver, making it more difficult to make turns. A major downside of the conventional nose day cabs is that it has a bad fuel mileage.
These day cabs have a sloped hood, which is rounder when compared to the traditional ones: it is short, which means that the trailer is longer. So, the sloped-nose day cab offers more cargo space without breaking any length restrictions. The short hood also means that the driver has a better view ahead, hence has more control over the cab.
Kenworth day cab tractors are the best for carrying out different rigorous tasks without risking the safety and comfort of the driver. They are built with high-quality materials and are installed with some of the best features which is why Kenworth is a top choice for most drivers.
The Freightliner has some of the best tandem-axle day cabs and depending on the model and year of the day cab, you can always get one suitable for your business. Each model comes with unique configurations with regard to the type and size of the engine, wheelbase lengths, brakes, and other specs.
International day cabs are designed to endure rugged tasks over a long time span. This is made possible by their aluminum cab structure and some of the tasks it can be used to complete include logging, dumping, and construction, just to mention a few.
Don't just take our word, hear what COOP customers have to say about our platform.
“The supply of short-term rental trucks was almost impossible. COOP was able to help by connecting us to equipment Owners that weren’t utilizing their fleets.”
“I like the convenience of being able to pick up the vehicles when I need them, check them out on the app, take pictures, and get on the road.”
Tandem axle day cab tractors can be used for long-hauling. They are firm enough to offer the required support when transporting heavy loads over long distances. The two drive axles provide the support and stability needed when on long hauls. They can also be customized depending on the needs of the business.
Heavy Load Transportation
Because of the two drive axles, tandem-axle day cabs are used for the transportation of heavy loads. The double drive axles offer the required support to carry heavy loads without affecting acceleration or causing other inefficiencies. Besides being able to carry heavy loads, tandem-axle day cab tractors can carry wide loads despite the weight, so the range of heavy loads they can carry is wide.
