Conventional Box Truck
This type of box truck is built with its cabin behind the front axle and the engine section. One of their advantages is that they provide a wide range of power plants, depending on the user’s preference. Conventional trucks have a recognizable engine compartment which benefits technicians during maintenance. However, the visibility of these trucks is poor compared to the cab-over design.
Cab over Engine
The cab-over trucks, on the other hand, are built with the engine compartment below the cabin area. They have a tighter turning radius making it possible to maneuver tight spaces. Due to its flat face and closeness to the windshield, the truck has improved visibility making it safer since the driver can see what is directly in front of them. Maintenance is also easy since the engine is easily accessible from beneath the hood thus reducing expenses and saving on time.
Refrigerated Box Truck
They are called refrigerated or reefer box trucks. This is a truck designed to transport perishable cargo at specific temperatures. They differ from insulated vans in that they are fitted with cooling apparatus. Refrigerated trucks have a refrigeration unit powered by diesel generators or sometimes through water cooling systems, which are more expensive. These trucks are therefore what you can opt for in case you need to transport temperature-sensitive cargo.
Isuzu
The Japanese brand is a good choice with features such as fuel efficiency, reliability, and easy maintenance for decades. Isuzu trucks are readily available within different class ranges so you can find one based on the intended use. With its excellent fuel consumption level and a muscular engine, an Isuzu box truck gives you the advantage to haul for long distances.
Freightliner
These trucks are popularly used in fire departments due to their toughness. Their box truck designs make them efficient due to their ability to maneuver quickly. As well, they are made with wide cab areas which are perfect for easy transportation. Also, Freightliner trucks are available in both automatic and manual transmission, according to the user’s preference.
Scania
Scania has been termed as a long-haulage brand especially due to its powerful engines. Scania trucks are usually tailor-made to fit user demands and needs. It has a cost-effective and reliable chassis and a wide variety of axle configurations. The brand also has incredible support systems making it a good choice too.
