Sleeper Cab
A sleeper tandem axle tractor is designed to provide more towing capacity. Most tandem axle tractors can haul loads weighing more than 65,000lb. The sleeper cab has an extension behind the driver’s cabin known as the sleeper berth area where the driver can take a rest when on a long haul.
Day Cab
A tandem axle day cab truck has no sleeper berth. This makes it suitable for day use when short-distance deliveries need to be made. Whether you need to haul freight for your retail business or need to haul large equipment used for landscaping, a tandem axle tractor should be able to get the job done.
That said, below are two fuel variations of both the sleeper cab and day cab tractors.
Diesel Powered Tandem Axle Tractors
Different tandem axle tractors are powered differently. Some use diesel fuel to operate, which is the most common fuel type associated with large heavy-duty commercial vehicles. Diesel energy provides more torque, which enables the truck to haul more goods and heavy loads.
Electric Powered Tandem Axle Tractors
In contrast to diesel-powered tractors, electric energy is used to operate some tandem axle tractors. The tractors rely on their charged batteries to operate. This form of energy is great if you want to maintain a safe environment. Electric energy is derived when the truck brakes and energy are converted and stored in the tractor’s batteries for operation.
Mack
The one thing about Mack’s commercial vehicles that stands out the most is safety. Tandem axle Mack tractors are among the safest to use for long hauls. Built with a rigid frame, both the freight on transit and the driver are assured of safe arrival to the final destination. In addition, with some customization and tweaks, Mack tractors are built to serve different types of businesses.
Freightliner
When looking for a commercial vehicle for businesses, most businesses focus on finding a tractor that will save them fuel costs. Freightliner tandem axle tractors ensure the fuel consumption is equal to the mileage traveled. Freightliner also takes technology advancements seriously and is always taking advantage of new market entries to improve the overall performance of its tractors.
Peterbilt
Peterbilt has some of the best tandem axle tractors you would want to rent. The company prides itself as a top manufacturer of top-notch engines. In addition to powerful engines, Peterbilt tractors fall nothing short of reliable and comfortable. No task will be daunting with the right Peterbilt tandem axle tractor.
Don't just take our word, hear what COOP customers have to say about our platform.
“The supply of short-term rental trucks was almost impossible. COOP was able to help by connecting us to equipment Owners that weren’t utilizing their fleets.”
“I like the convenience of being able to pick up the vehicles when I need them, check them out on the app, take pictures, and get on the road.”
Heavy Duty
A tandem axle tractor is ideal when you need to haul bulky goods, as they have a towing capacity of 70,000lb. The firm suspension, powerful engine, and tandem setup make them capable of carrying any heavy-duty loads a business wishes to transport.
Long Distance
A sleeper tandem axle tractor rental is the perfect commercial vehicle to embark on a long-distance hauling. They are built for heavy hauling and they also have a sleeper cab for resting when taking breaks from a tiring trip.
