Refrigerated Box Truck
Also known as a reefer box truck, a refrigerated box truck is used for hauling temperature-sensitive goods. A major feature that makes them different from standard box trucks includes a refrigeration unit which is composed of a compressor, condenser, and evaporator. Frozen foods like meats and fresh produce are some of the examples of the types of cargo transported via refrigerated box trucks.
Cab Over Engine
A box truck with a cab over engine design offers more visibility since it has a flat front. Because of the engine location, which is usually below the cab area, trucks with this design have a tight turning radius. The shorter hood makes cab over engine trucks great for making deliveries in narrow driveways and busy areas of the city.
Conventional Box Truck
Conventional box trucks have a longer hood when compared to the cab over engine design. Instead of positioning the engine beneath the cab area, it is placed opposite it forming the protruding front. A big disadvantage is that this feature increases the turning radius making it more difficult to park in small parking spaces or maneuver busy streets.
Freightliner
Freightliner is a pioneer in the trucking industry with some of the best box trucks used by businesses today. Freightliner trucks have some of the best engines built to achieve both durability and reliability. Other competitive factors that describe this brand include safety, quality, fuel efficiency, uptime, and connectivity.
