Lowboys
These trailers, also known as double drops, are usually extremely low with two drops, one located after the gooseneck and the other in front of the rear axle. Their increased number of axles increases their load capacity and strength. The drop forms some sort of a well that enables it to carry loads with heights of up to 14 feet. Also, this feature gives the load stability when compared to standard flatbed trailers. Most heavy machinery and equipment used in construction exceed the standard legal weight and height of flatbed trailers but can be easily loaded and transported on low-boy trailers.
Removable Goosenecks
They are called removable because they can be detached from the cabin. This trailer is mostly used to haul oversized loads. RGNs can also be lowered to the ground to create a ramp that makes it easy to load and unload freight. These trailers can be configured with 20+ axles which increases their strength, capacity, and support system making it possible to haul freight of approximately 150,000 pounds. RGNs come in lengths of up to 29 feet making them the perfect trailers for carrying large machines and since no additional loading equipment is required, they are quite convenient.
Extendable Stretch Trailer
The extendable stretch trailers are perfect for self-support loads. The name is derived from the trailer’s nature of retracting or stretching. They are best suited for extremely long loads as they help to prevent the cargo in transit from overhanging. The extendable trailer has a maximum length of 80feet. In addition, they are lightweight with great steering angles giving your load optimum flexibility, and can haul multiple (stable) loads simultaneously.
Utility
Utility flatbed trailers such as the 4000 AE model are quite the powerhouse that can handle severely heavy loads. This flatbed has a 47,000lb coil package but is still lightweight. It is specifically built for heavy-duty use with a maximum weight limit of about 80,000lbs. The floors of the trailer are usually made of either aluminum or hardwood, which can withstand heavy loads.
International
The company is popularly known for the manufacture of heavy-duty flatbed trailers perfect for different heavy hauling tasks. International makes legendary trailers that are not only durable but also cheap to maintain making them a nice choice for businesses. Most of the company’s trailers are built with engines with great horsepower making them ideal for both long and heavy hauling.
Scania
Scania manufactures fantastic models of flatbed trailers such as the G-series, XT range, and P-series. Some Scania trailers come with their cranes with most of the units easy to maneuver. They also have incredible loading capacity and generally built with durable materials. The gearbox has an automatic clutch which gives the driver focus, making it a perfect choice for congested places. The axle configurations are also rigid with air suspension giving the trailer a tremendous turning radius.
Don't just take our word, hear what COOP customers have to say about our platform.
“The supply of short-term rental trucks was almost impossible. COOP was able to help by connecting us to equipment Owners that weren’t utilizing their fleets.”
“I like the convenience of being able to pick up the vehicles when I need them, check them out on the app, take pictures, and get on the road.”
Construction
Flatbeds are best utilized in construction sites for hauling heavy equipment and machinery used. Most of the construction hauling tasks entail heavy or abnormally tall equipment which can perfectly be hauled through flatbed trailers.
Landscaping
There is also a need to use flatbed trailers in landscaping due to the nature of the transportation demands. Lawnmowers and tractors, among other heavy equipment, often need to be transported in and out of the landscaping site. If you need to rent a reliable, large flatbed trailer for your landscaping business then join COOP and find what you are looking for.
Tall Freight Hauling
Another way you could use a flatbed trailer is by hauling tall freight. Hauling these types of cargo in company setups is mostly done using a flatbed since they are easy to load and unload without ruining anything. Also, for obvious reasons, tall freight can conveniently be transported in open and flat-shaped trailers.
