Conventional Box Truck
A conventional box truck has a front driver’s cab that is separated from the placement of the vehicle’s engine, which is built into the front of the vehicle, or its “nose”. The benefits of a conventional box truck are that these trucks are quieter and more comfortable for the driver in the cabin, though some drawbacks include lower maneuverability due to the greater distance between the driver and the front of the truck.
Cab-over-engine Box Truck
A cabover box truck is designed to provide the driver with better maneuverability and easier parking in congested and tight spaces. This style of box truck has a smaller wheelbase length than a conventional box truck and provides better visibility due to the cabin being positioned over the engine and having the driver closer to the front of the vehicle. However, these can be less comfortable and noisier for drivers, so they aren’t a popular option for long-distance hauls.
Refrigerated Box Trucks
A refrigerated box truck is any type of box truck that has been fitted with a refrigeration system into its cargo area. This refrigeration system makes it possible to transport perishable goods but requires more upkeep between loads. These trucks also feature more insulation than a regular box truck to support the refrigeration unit, and can even have multiple temperature zones to accommodate varying levels of temperature needed for different types of cargo.
Freightliner
Freightliner trucks are known for their fuel efficiency and high levels of technology fitted into their trucks. The trucks are built to ensure lower fuel emissions and greater trip efficiency. If you're looking to rent a Freightliner box truck with the COOP platform, then keep your eye out for models like the Freightliner Business Class M2 106 or the Freightliner M2 112.
Thermo King
Thermo King is well-known for its high-quality truck, trailer, shipboard container, and railway car temperature-control units. This company works on improving their systems and technologies regularly, making them innovative, and increasing their customers’ profitability by designing their vehicles to improve efficiency, including minimizing the size of their units and in turn increasing capacity for cargo by up to 35%. Consider searching out their Thermo King T-90 units to experience their high-quality refrigeration for your next box truck rental.
Hino
Known as America’s fastest-growing medium-duty truck brand, Hino is a manufacturer that has risen to prominence due to the quality of its trucks. With both conventional and cab over options available, consider one of their box truck models, such as the Hino 300 series or the Hino 600 series, for your next box truck rental need.
Don't just take our word, hear what COOP customers have to say about our platform.
“The supply of short-term rental trucks was almost impossible. COOP was able to help by connecting us to equipment Owners that weren’t utilizing their fleets.”
“I like the convenience of being able to pick up the vehicles when I need them, check them out on the app, take pictures, and get on the road.”
Final Mile Delivery
Final mile delivery is often the hardest delivery service to control. What can make this more difficult is if the driver has to make frequent stops to fill up on fuel, or if their vehicle is too large to fit into the driveways or parking lots for the locations they are delivering to. A cab-over box truck is great for providing better maneuverability, fuel efficiency, and visibility to help alleviate some of the disruptions that a driver might be faced with during final mile delivery.
Moving Services
With their easy-to-secure cargo area, the box truck is a great choice for any moving job you may have. Some box trucks may come fitted with a loading ramp, allowing for quicker and easier loading and unloading of furniture and other items. Additionally, with their sealed and enclosed cargo area, a box truck will ensure that your freight is protected against the harsh elements you may experience during the drive.
Appliance Delivery
Because box trucks are easy to secure and have large cuboid-shaped cargo areas, they are a great fit for appliance delivery. With a ramp, dollies can be used to load and unload large appliances. Also, the enclosed and sealed cargo area ensures that your cargo will stay safe and dry until reaching its final destination.
