A tandem day cab tractor is well endowed for running errands during the day. The cabin area doesn’t have an extension for resting as with sleeper cab tractors. As such, it is best used during the day for short trips within the state.
A sleeper tractor, on the other hand, is built with a sleeper berth behind the cabin. This extra space has a bunk bed and an air conditioner, as well as other basic necessities, based on the brand and model. This addition creates a suitable environment for the tractor operators to rest when they have to go for long trips.
Additionally, the sleeper cab tractors and day cab tractors can be classified depending on the type of fueling. Here are the two main classifications.
With COOP, you can rent electric-powered tandem axle tractors. The electric tractors use electrical energy to propel the vehicle. One of the biggest advantages of electric-powered tractors is that they have zero emissions. These tractors emit no engine noise when being driven.
You can also rent diesel-powered tractors that are the most common. These tractors rely on diesel fuel to run. While diesel tractors are common, you can rent one with COOP and get to conduct all your hauling needs.
Freightliner tractors are fuel-efficient and heavy-duty, hence can go for many miles with fewer gallons of fuel consumed. Freightliner tractors are designed to perform better while delivering a good return on fuel consumption, which explains why they are equipped with two huge fuel tanks of up to 220 gallons. Also, Freightliner tractors are built to offer good service at relatively low operating costs.
Kenworth tandem axle tractors have excellent cab ergonomics, and this is where the heavy-duty tractors excel. Their sleeper cabs are luxurious, and the drivers experience no road noise from driving. Basically, there are many ergonomics put in place for a great driver experience. Also, dashboard controls are easy to reach and the clusters are quite visible, contributing to a less tiresome drive.
Volvo tractors are well built for the job. Its tandem axle tractors have a button for lowering the driving axle when loaded which ensures maximum traction hence drivability when hauling very heavy loads. When fully loaded, a Volvo tractor can save fuel by up to 4% during cargo transportation. This is a unique feature when compared to many other tractor brands.
