Box trucks are common for dry freight transportation. They can be described as box-like trucks where the axles are secured to one frame. There are two main designs for box trucks, cab over engine, and conventional design. The cab-over-engine design is known for maneuverability, so would be a great option if you need to access congested areas.
The name is straightforward, it refers to box trucks that have temperature-control units in the cargo area. Hence, they are mostly used to haul freight with temperature control requirements. This means that when the refrigeration equipment is not in use, it can be turned off so no unnecessary maintenance costs are incurred.
Stake trucks are similar to box/straight trucks. However, they are distinguishable by the removable stakes at the sides of the truck that are fixed into sockets built at each of the sides. They have no roof hence are used to haul tall freight. Also, the removable stake trucks give allowance for carrying loads wider than the truck.
