Step Deck Flatbed Trailer
Step-deck flatbed trailers are also known as drop deck flatbeds and lowboys. These trailers have no roof, sides, or doors, but instead of having one level to their flatbed, they have two. The upper deck is the standard height that attaches to the tractor pulling the cargo, and then it drops down to a lower deck which allows for larger and taller cargo to be stored on the back while still being low enough to meet clearance levels for tunnels and bridges on interstate highways.
Stake Flatbed Trailer
Though flatbed trailers will not normally come with a roof or sides, there is a variation of these trailers that creates walls through upright poles called stakes. These stakes are removable, so they can be put in after the loading and unloading process to still provide the same ease that having no sides gives when loading and unloading cargo. These trailers are very popular for livestock and timber industries.
Flatbed Stretch Trailer
A flatbed stretch trailer is a flatbed trailer that has an extendable and retractable bed. These trailers typically start at around 48 ft. long and be extended up to 80 ft. long at their maximum length, allowing for them to accommodate unusually long cargo such as industrial piping or pre-built parts of roads or bridges.
Utility
Utility is a trailer company that manufactures a variety of products, and since its formation in 1914, Utility has focused on building trailers that could withstand the strains of constant use, heavy loads, and rough terrain. Their flatbed trailers benefit from the simplicity of design, standardized construction methods, and mass production which culminate in strong and durable models such as their Utility 4000 AE and their Utility 4000S.
Great Dane
Great Dane, first established in 1900 as a blowpipe supplier company, is an American transportation solutions leader. Their original business model molded once the country began work on the interstate systems during the Great Depression and Great Dane rose to the occasion to begin manufacturing trailers that would help transport goods on these new highways, and they’ve continued to respond to changing needs and requirements, keeping their products innovative and cutting-edge. Consider renting one of these cutting-edge flatbed trailers by looking for their Great Dane Freedom flatbed trailer, and experience one of their great customizations like safety-grip surfaces, suspension packages, and enhanced load securement options.
Wabash
Wabash National Corporation got its start in 1985 when a group of entrepreneurs set a goal to improve the design and production of commercial semi-trailers. They have since grown to become an industry leader that has continued to push design standards in the industry to new heights, with versatile, strong, and aerodynamic trailer products. Consider renting a Transcraft Eagle or a Benson by Wabash National as your next flatbed trailer rental.
Don't just take our word, hear what COOP customers have to say about our platform.
“The supply of short-term rental trucks was almost impossible. COOP was able to help by connecting us to equipment Owners that weren’t utilizing their fleets.”
“I like the convenience of being able to pick up the vehicles when I need them, check them out on the app, take pictures, and get on the road.”
Landscaping
Landscaping companies need to be able to quickly load up debris and brush from landscaping worksites and move them onto the next site, in addition to transporting their equipment for the jobs. The lack of a roof and long bed allows for it to be partitioned off with stakes and loaded from all sides by multiple workers.
Logging
The logging industry needs a reliable way to transport large amounts of cut-up lumbar to centers that can process this lumbar into consumable products. Flatbed trailers are tough and open, making them easy to load with wooden logs, especially when the driver uses stakes on the sides of the flatbed to keep the wooden logs secure.
Machinery Transportation
On plant sites or other areas where large machinery is located, sometimes this machinery needs to be moved for maintenance or replaced altogether. Flatbed trucks can accommodate moving this heavy-duty machinery due to their easy loading and strong bed floors.
