Tandem Axle Tractors
The number of drive axles accounts for the number of wheels on a tractor. Tandem axle tractors are large because of the extra axles which give them incredible strength while improving traction on different kinds of roads. The engine is designed to send power to the lead axle through a drive shaft which allows the driver to choose drive power from the cabin from a single switch. Generally, tandem axle tractors are used for heavy-hauling and are fitted with large spring packs that help to support these heavy loads. The stability produced by the axles not only supports the load but also acts as a stabilizer for the tractors.
Single Axle Tractors
When compared to tandem axle tractors, these are smaller and easy to maneuver. As such, they are perfect for urban deliveries because they can easily move through congested streets. Their size makes them fuel-efficient as they consume less fuel. If you need a single axle tractor rental for city deliveries you can rent with COOP today.
International
International is a master manufacturer of reliable tractors that boast high torque and horsepower, fit for heavy hauling. The LT Series, which is one of the best models under this category is built with an intention of providing maximum comfort for the driver. The tractor has optimized driveability and intuitive controls that are helpful for long hauls. Overall, International tractors are also perfect for local deliveries with enhanced features such as collision mitigation and total visibility.
Peterbilt
The new model 579 is technologically advanced with fuel efficiency. With the aerodynamic design, this tractor improves its air resistance thus reducing fuel consumption. The digital dashboard has a high-class performance and is easy to use. It is also equipped with safety features. The Peterbilt powertrain maximizes the miles and the payload capacity that transmits power to the tandem axle. The sleeper area is modern and provides maximum comfort for the driver.
Volvo
The Volvo brand has a wide range of the VNL series with medium to severe duty tractors to choose from. The VNL 400 is a highly versatile tractor with a flat roof which is perfect for long-distance deliveries. Also, the VNL 760 has very spacious sleeper cabs where the driver can perform other tasks apart from sleeping during long hauls that take days. They are also aerodynamically efficient to improve fuel efficiency.

Long-distance Hauls
