102” Reefer Straight Trucks
This is a popular type of reefer truck which is usually 102” wide. When compared to other standard reefer straight trucks, it is larger and can carry more loads. However, these reefer trucks are not very common on roads since they are wider than the standard width size of most straight trucks, hence pose safety risks on the roads.
Wooden Floor Reefer Trucks
Some commodities, while they need certain temperature control during transportation, also require air circulation. Wooden floor reefer trucks are designed to allow air circulation from the floor all through the load. The only downside of using wooden floor reefer trucks is that the energy costs of running them are high.

Don't just take our word, hear what COOP customers have to say about our platform.
“The supply of short-term rental trucks was almost impossible. COOP was able to help by connecting us to equipment Owners that weren’t utilizing their fleets.”
“I like the convenience of being able to pick up the vehicles when I need them, check them out on the app, take pictures, and get on the road.”
Metal and Steel Container Transportation
Reefer straight trucks are large and most of them are heavy-duty. They can be used to transport metals and steel containers. As long as the weight of the cargo does not exceed the stated weight limit and cargo standards, it is a great way of transporting such. While the most predominant use of reefer straight trucks is the transportation of temperature-sensitive goods, the refrigerator does not always have to be on.
Frozen Food
For obvious reasons, frozen foods need to be transported under low temperatures. Business people need to ensure that they meet all the transportation standards for food and other goods that need temperature regulation. Fruits may not have the same temperature requirements as meat and dairy products, and the reverse is true. So, since each commodity has its own requirements, reefers can be adjusted to meet those requirements.
Beverages
To prevent bad weather conditions from damaging beverages, reefer straight trucks are used during transportation. Most beverages need to be stored under certain temperatures to avoid spoilage. In fact, others should always be kept in really low temperatures to keep them fit to drink.
Dry Freight
Due to the refrigeration function, a lot of people tend to think that reefer straight trucks can only be used for carrying temperature-sensitive goods. The good thing is that the refrigeration unit is adjustable, and when not needed can be turned off. So, reefer straight trucks can also be used to carry dry freight, even when it does not need temperature control.
