Tandem Axle Tractor
Tandem axle tractors have a second set of axles and wheels located directly behind the front axle. This additional set allows them to carry heavier cargo loads than a single axle, and also provides greater shock absorption and a smoother ride at high speeds. The downside is that a tandem axle is heavier, slightly less fuel-efficient, and harder to maneuver, but if you need to haul a heavy load, a tandem axle tractor is a right option for you.
Single Axle Tractor
Single axle tractors are not able to carry the same maximum payload that a tandem axle can, but as a tradeoff, they are also more fuel-efficient and easier to maneuver. This can be very helpful in certain situations, such as driving through a city or delivering in an urban environment.
Sleeper Cab Tractor
Sleeper cab tractors have a compartment attached to the cab that gives the driver a place to rest or sleep when needed. Sleeper cabs can be highly customizable, with some even including restrooms for the driver and providing a lot of time savings by not removing the need to find a hotel room for every night on the road. Sleeper cab tractors are typically used for long-haul trips but can be used for daily hauling and deliveries as well.
Freightliner
Freightliner has earned an excellent reputation over the years that the company has been in business through manufacturing high-quality vehicles that stand the test of time and hardships of the road. With their focus on technology and efficiency, Freightliner has been able to build tractors that deliver both maximized power and enhanced fuel efficiency over other brands.
Volvo
While ranked as the 5th best tractor manufacturer in the US, Volvo is the 2nd highest sold tractor globally. They sell so many tractors around the world because they have been known for such a high commitment to safety and quality for all of the trucks built by the brand since they began in 1928. Putting as much focus on the driver as they do the engine, Volvo tractors are known to provide both a comfortable drive for the driver and a powerful, fuel-efficient engine for the tractor.
International
The International brand is known all around the world due to its track record of delivering exceptional power and performance for its vehicles across the board. A leading manufacturer of trucks and tractors of all duty and cargo levels, International trucks are highly desired by all. Many International models, like the LT series, provide the option to have them outfitted with either Cummins or International-brand engines.
Mack
Owned by the same parent company as Volvo, the Mack brand of tractors is probably the most widely recognized brand among truckers and non-truckers alike. Renowned for their durability and toughness, the powertrain used by Mack tractors brings a level of innovation to the tractor industry that cannot be beaten. Mack brand tractors have the ability to carry heavier loads for longer distances, as these tractors are able to withstand the rigors of high-mileage hauls better than most. Mack tractors are also highly customizable, which means that you can find a wide variety of different options when looking for a Mack tractor on the COOP app.
